The Days of the Dead - Días de los Muertos

This holiday is a festive celebration of life. It is a time to remember those who have gone before us, thank them for enriching our lives, and for contemplating our own mortality, both with reverence and humor. Here at Back from Tomboctou, The Days of the Dead Season is an exciting time. We hold annual celebrations including the display of a beautiful traditional altar, and workshops on how to make and decorate sugar skulls used for offerings and décor during the season. Classes on other skills such as papel picado are also held. We bring you a fine collection of skeletons, masks, miniature scenes, sugar skulls, postcards, assorted molds for making sugar or chocolate figures. Also Galicia, Soteno, and Castillo family items, paper and plastic banners, cempazuchitl flowers, and many other items from this ancient tradition.
